Antena 2 - on Saturdays every 2 weeks at 1:00 a.m
Programming:
May 12, 2012 - Interview with Joana Sá (POWERTRIO, "through this looking glass")
May 26, 2012 - "Der Klang des Südens" ("Sound of the South") - Part 1: Barcelona During the second part of the programme, in the context of the UNESCO International Arts Education Week (21-27 May 2012), the Arte Eletroacústica will present one "Sound-Told Fairy Tale" from the Miso Music Portugal's Electroacoustic Theatre for Children - "A Nova Música do Rei" ("The Emperor's New Music") with music by António Ferreira and story by Ágata Mandillo (based on the tale by Hans Christian Andersen, "The Emperor's New Clothes").
The modern daily life, filled with "noise information", turns out to be a way of multiple diversions, in which contemporary art music, "because of its complexity," seems to be one of the options less attractive and therefore one of the less known. This stereotype persists in the general consciousness because the public is not aware of the richness and variety of styles and techniques that today coexist in music - a state that has never existed before in its history. The stereotypes exist and are undeniably to be overcome - there is not just "one contemporary music", there are "many contemporary musics" and it is precisely this convergence of different aesthetics that makes them so fascinating, so current, so eclectic. It is this convergence, in which the proposal Arte Eletroacústica is located - a radiophonic privileged space giving voice to new music, highlighting the relationship between music and technology within its various aspects and communicating the Art, which is the pulse of current music creation, communication and enjoyment in the present, assertion of our identity and constitution of our future.
Arte Eletroacústica is a programme conducted and produced by the Miso Music Portugal and the Portuguese Music Research & Information Center for Antena 2, in conjunction with the group Ars Acustica of the European Broadcasting Union, enabling the exchange between musicians and composers in Europe, contributing to the dissemination of Portuguese music abroad.
Directed and presented by Miguel Azguime, Arte Eletroacústica will also include the regular cooperation of other authors and is coordinated by Jakub Szczypa.
Within Arte Eletroacústica we would also like to discover new music and recordings, so we look forward to receiving music and recordings that emerging composers are willing to send us.
