In the framework of the partnership between Miso Music Portugal and the RTP - Antena 2, electroacoustic works by four Portuguese contemporary composers (Ângela da Ponte, António Ferreira, João Castro Pinto and Miguel Negrão) were submitted to the Prix Palma Ars Acustica, a competition organised by the Ars Acustica group of the European Broadcasting Union.
In the framework of the MINSTREL European project, between March 27 and 28 Miso Music Portugal and the Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre, MIC.PT, are organising at O'culto da Ajuda performances by the Loudspeaker Orchestra, Electronic Geographies, as well as an international meeting dedicated to musical diversity.
In 2015 Miso Music Portugal completes 30 years of its intense activity for the sake of contemporary music creation, with focus on Portuguese music. Throughout the year in the framework of numerous initiatives, we will be celebrating this anniversary at O'culto da Ajuda in Lisbon, the recently inaugurated Miso Music Portugal's venue.
Música Viva 2015 and the International Competition of Electroacoustic Music
In 2015 the Música Viva Festival changes dates "establishing" itself in the second half of May. Thus the next edition will be taking place already in five months, between May 20 and 30.
Accordingly, the Música Viva International Composition Competition of Electroacoustic Music also changes dates. In 2015 the deadline of its 16th edition is April 15. All the information concerning the competition can be found here.
Cadavre Exquis - new edition by Miso Records
Miso Records in collaboration with the Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre / MIC.PT and with the support of the MINSTREL European project, released on November 21 a new CD, its sixth edition in 2014, Cadavre Exquis - Portuguese Composers of the 21st Century. This new CD constitutes an extensive panorama of contemporary Portuguese music, with 45 miniatures by 45 Portuguese composers.
