Work by Igor C. Silva in the World Music Days in March
The work Frames # 87, by Igor C. Silva, will be performed in the World Music Days, in Tongyeong (South Korea), March 31. The work was chosen after the official submission of several works by Miso Music Portugal, the Portuguese section of the ISCM (International Society for Contemporary Music), for this Festival.
Within the Call for Scores/Projects for the World Music Days 2016, Sounds of Tomorrow, Miso Music Portugal has invited six Portuguese composers, published by the Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre, MIC.PT, to include their works in the official application of the ISCM Portuguese Section for this festival dedicated to new music.
The work Frames #87 by Igor C. Silva, composer published by the MIC.PT, has been selected for the WMD 2016 within the category no. 9 (solo instrument/mixed media).
As Portuguese Section of the ISCM, every year Miso Music Portugal has been presenting to the juries of the WMD an application with six works by Portuguese composers, thus ensuring, since 2000, the presence of Portuguese music at the World Music Days Festivals, a significant moment in the international calendar of events dedicated to new music.
