RESEO International Conference

The RESEO International Conference,0-3: Opera, Music and Dance for the Early Years, in which Miso Music Portugal is partner and host, will be taking place between May 14 and 16 at three Lisbon venues: São Carlos National Theatre (May 14), Belém Arts Centre (May 16) and O'culto da Ajuda (May 16). The aim of this event is to explore, exchange and promote quality music performances, which have an impact on the youngest, their families, as well as among artists and entities connected with culture.

Bruno Gabirro in residency at the LEC in May

In May 2015 the composer Bruno Gabirro is in residency at the Lab for Electroacoustic Creation - LEC by Miso Music Portugal, where he is working on his work, which will be presented at the Música Viva 2015 Festival in the second half of this month at O'culto da Ajuda.

Música Viva 2015

In 2015 the Música Viva Festival, taking place between May 21 and 30 at O'culto da Ajuda in Lisbon, completes its 21st edition and celebrates the 30th anniversary of Miso Music Portugal. Once again, following its vision and main mission, the Festival constitutes an integrated initiative focused on the dissemination of contemporary music creation, simultaneously being committed to Portuguese composers and the relations of music with technology.

Claude Cadoz in residency at the LEC

In April, in the framework of the EASTN, of which Miso Music Portugal makes part, Claude Cadoz is in residency at the Lab for Electroacoustic Creation (LEC) at O'culto da Ajuda in Lisbon. Using the potential offered by the Miso Music Portugal Loudspeaker Orchestra this French composer is working on the spatialization of his music developed with the GENESIS system.

In April, in the framework of the EASTN (European Art Science Technology Network), of which Miso Music Portugal makes part, Claude Cadoz is in residency at the Lab for Electroacoustic Creation (LEC) at O'culto da Ajuda in Lisbon. Using the potential offered by the Miso Music Portugal Loudspeaker Orchestra this French composer is working on the spatialization of his music developed with the GENESIS system, a computer environment for music creation based on the physical objects simulation language CORDIS-ANIMA.

World Music Days 2015 - Portuguese representation

The Slovenian Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) has announced the results for the World Music Days 2015 (WMD 2015), festival scheduled between September 26 and October 2, 2015, in Ljubljana (Slovenia). In this sense, the work Nocturna Itinera by Patrícia Sucena de Almeida, composer published by the MIC.PT, was selected for the WMD 2015 in the framework of the official application by the ISCM Portuguese Section. Another composer who will represent Portugal at this Festival, and who was chosen within the individual submission, is Nuno Costa with his piece Pater noster for eight voices a capela.

Portuguese Composers on Palma Ars Acustica

In the framework of the partnership between Miso Music Portugal and the RTP - Antena 2, electroacoustic works by four Portuguese contemporary composers (Ângela da Ponte, António Ferreira, João Castro Pinto and Miguel Negrão) were submitted to the Prix Palma Ars Acustica, a competition organised by the Ars Acustica group of the European Broadcasting Union.

There are various initiatives to celebrate the Art of Music at O'culto da Ajuda on January 15, 16 and 17.
We begin on the 15th with the conference Digital SOS - Music Patrimony and Digital Preservation, and continue on the 16th with the Art's Birthday 2015 with a concert by the Powertrio. This 3-day cycle will have its final on January 17 within a unique performance dedicated to Alvaro García de Zúñiga.

Cadavre Exquis - new edition by Miso Records

Miso Records in collaboration with the Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre / MIC.PT and with the support of the MINSTREL European project, released on November 21 a new CD, its sixth edition in 2014, Cadavre Exquis - Portuguese Composers of the 21st Century. This new CD constitutes an extensive panorama of contemporary Portuguese music, with 45 miniatures by 45 Portuguese composers.

Cristina Dignart wins the Música Viva 2014 Competition

The jury of the 15th International Competition of Electroacoustic Composition Música Viva 2014, constituted by Elżbieta Sikora, Andre Bartetzki and Miguel Azguime, has awarded the work Cerberus by Cristina Dignart. Born in Cuiabá, this Brazilian composer made her Master's Degree in Composition and New Technologies at the Goiás University. The music of this young composer has already been presented in various Brazilian cities, as well as in Portugal, that is, in the context of the SoundWalk of the Música Viva 2010 Festival at the Belém Arts Centre in Lisbon.
