Miso Music Portugal Concert Season

The Miso Music Portugal Concert Season is a cycle of performances organized in connection with various activities exercised by Miso Music Portugal during the year. The Concert Season programmes have different character, varying between events dedicated to electroacoustic, mixed or acoustic music, performances for children, events dedicated to education through art, concerts organized on the occasion of new CD releases or special events dedicated to one composer in particular.
This wide range of proposals is joined by the Miso Music Portugal's quality of providing new music concerts on the highest level, with the participation of renowned performers from the world over. As always, in our programming strategy we give focus to Portuguese music, putting into perspective 20th and 21st century works and the ones being created here and now.

Mais um programa do ciclo Na 1.ª Pessoa, com uma entrevista a Isabel Soveral. Uma oportunidade para conhecer melhor a música e o percurso desta compositora nascida em 1961. Depois dos seus estudos em Portugal e nos Estados Unidos da América, Isabel Soveral é, desde 1995, professora de Composição, Teoria e Análise Musical na Universidade de Aveiro. É membro do INET-MD (Instituto de Etnomusicologia – Centro de Estudos em Música e Dança). Desde 2008 que é membro do Conselho Científico do Centro de Investigação & Informação da Música Portuguesa – MIC.PT. É directora do Centro de Investigação em Música Eletroacústica (CIME), criadora da plataforma EAW (Electroacoustic Winds), e coordenadora do Congresso Internacional EAW. A sua música, com uma forte influência do modermismo, possui uma componente “visual”, que se reflecte na sua maneira de trabalhar com “massas” ou “tecidos sonoros”. Tem diversas composições para solistas, grupos de câmara ou orquestra, frequentemente organizadas em “ciclos” e muitas vezes com a presença da electrónica. As suas obras têm sido apresentadas por todo o mundo. Isabel Soveral é uma compositora editada também pelo MIC.PT.

Another programme within the cycle In the 1st Person with an interview to Isabel Soveral, being an opportunity to get to know better the music and the path by this composer, born in 1961. After having studied in Portugal and the USA, Isabel Soveral has been, since 1995, professor of Composition, Musical Theory and Analysis at the University of Aveiro. She's member of the INET-MD (Institute of Ethnomusicology – Centre for Studies in Music and Dance). Since 2008 she's been member of the MIC.PT – Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre Scientific Board. She's director of the Centre for Research in Electroacoustic Music (CIME), creator of the EAW – Electroacoustic Winds platform and coordinator of the EAW International Congress. Her music, strongly influenced by modernism, has a "visual" component, being reflected in her way of working with sonic "masses" or "fabrics". She has composed diverse works for soloists, chamber ensembles or orchestra, frequently organised in "cycles" and with electronics. Her works have been performed all around the world. Isabel Soveral is a composer published by the MIC.PT.
